We Protect Your Home

One of the major concerns most of our customers have is the condition of their home after a chimney sweeping. At Wells & Sons Chimney Service, we take the time to ensure that we leave your home in the same condition we found it in, or better.

Our technicians treat our customers’ homes with respect; one way that we protect your home is by using drop cloths. By placing drop cloths on the floor surrounding your fireplace, we keep dirt, soot and ash from being tracked through your home or from settling into carpets or flooring.

In addition to keeping your flooring and furnishings clean, we also have special equipment to help maintain the air quality in your home. Our technicians use high-velocity ROVAC vacuums when sweeping your chimney. Whereas regular vacuums cause fine ash and soot to merely become airborne, these vacuums are equipped with HEPA filters to ensure a clean sweep.

How Often Should My Chimney Be Swept?

Having your chimney swept at least once per year is one of the most important things you can do for the overall health and safety of your chimney system. An annual chimney sweeping removes dirt, debris, ash, soot and creosote from your flue, keeping your fireplace and chimney operating safely and efficiently.

The removal of creosote is one of the most important aspects of an annual chimney sweeping. Creosote is an extremely flammable material and is a byproduct of wood-burning fires. When creosote is allowed to accumulate in the flue, it can easily lead to a chimney fire.

While it is recommended that most chimneys be swept at least once per year, your chimney may need to be cleaned more or less based on use. For example, if your home uses a fireplace or wood stove daily as a major heat source, it may need to be swept more than once per year. One of our certified technicians will be able to recommend a cleaning schedule based on your family’s fireplace use and condition.

Dean came to our house today and called 15 minutes in advance of his show up time. This guy goes the extra mile for the customer, he took pictures, cleaned the chimney and fireplace and explained everything he was doing. He even went on the roof and inspected the chimney. First class company, employees and service! Highly recommend!!

Dean & Will from Wells & Sons were extremely professional, informative, and friendly. They were respectful of our house and ensured no mess was made or any carpeting had been impacted. They doesn’t time at the end walking through the report and answered all questions I had while providing contact information so I could reach out with any questions. Highly recommend as chimney assessments can be scary!
